WiserTask ("we", "our", or "us") operates the WiserTask mobile application and web platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information You Provide

• Account Information: Full name, email address, phone number, preferred language, and timezone when you register.
• Authentication Data: Password (stored in encrypted/hashed form only), session tokens.
• Reminder Content: Titles, descriptions, dates, times, categories, and priority levels of reminders you create.
• Voice Input: Text transcribed from voice recordings for reminder creation (audio is processed locally on your device and only the transcribed text is sent to our servers).

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type (iOS/Android), app version, device timezone.
• Usage Data: Login timestamps, activity logs (login, logout, reminder creation).
• Network Information: IP address for security and session management.
• Push Notification Tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens for delivering push notifications.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, or files.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not record or store voice audio files.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Create and manage your reminders, send timely notifications.
• Notifications: Send reminder alerts via push notifications, WhatsApp messages, email, and/or SMS based on your preferences and subscription plan.
• AI Text Analysis: Process your reminder text input using artificial intelligence to extract dates, times, and task details for automatic reminder scheduling.
• Conflict Detection: Analyze your existing reminders to detect scheduling conflicts and suggest alternatives.
• Account Management: Authenticate your identity, manage your subscription, and provide customer support.
• Service Improvement: Analyze usage patterns (in aggregate) to improve the app experience.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate WiserTask:

• OpenRouter AI (OpenAI/GPT models): For natural language processing of reminder text. Only the text you type/speak is sent; no personal identifiers are included.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): For delivering push notifications to your device.
• WhatsApp Business API: For sending reminder notifications via WhatsApp (only if you opt-in and provide your phone number).
• SMTP Email Service: For sending email notifications and verification codes.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard bcrypt hashing and are never stored in plain text.
• API authentication uses secure JWT (JSON Web Tokens) with expiration.
• Sensitive data on your device is stored using encrypted secure storage.
• All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Access tokens are stored securely and refreshed periodically.
• We implement rate limiting and session expiry to prevent unauthorized access.

5. Data Retention

• Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active.
• Reminders: Stored until you delete them or delete your account.
• Activity Logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.
• Verification Codes: Automatically expire after 10 minutes.

Upon account deletion request, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all personal data we hold about you through your profile settings.
• Correction: Update your personal information at any time.
• Deletion: Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Data Portability: Request an export of your reminder data.
• Opt-out: Disable any notification channel (push, WhatsApp, email, SMS) at any time through notification settings.
• Withdraw Consent: Stop using the service and request data deletion at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

WiserTask is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Notification Permissions

WiserTask may request the following permissions:

• Notifications: To send you reminder alerts at scheduled times.
• Microphone (optional): For voice-to-text input when creating reminders. Audio is processed locally using your device's speech recognition and is not recorded or stored.
• Internet Access: Required for syncing reminders and receiving notifications.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this privacy policy regardless of where it is processed.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
